(CBS)  The Academy Awards are not just about who wins the Oscar, but also about the best and worst dressed on the red carpet.

Suze Yalof Schwartz, Glamour magazine's executive fashion editor-at-large, told The Early Show co-anchor Julie Chen what she thought about the fashion, hair and makeup worn by the stars.

  • Best Dressed:

Schwartz said Penelope Cruz and Cate Blanchett dominated the red carpet. Cruz wore a Versace gown with a big, ruffle-laden fishtail.

"I loved the draping and the bottom. We are seeing a lot of tails," Schwartz said. "An incredible look. And she carried a Swarovski bag. Most did not. She looked so chic."

Blanchett wore a beautiful, metallic Armani Prive embellished with Swarovski crystal. It fit her perfectly. The metallic look is still very hot and very fashion-forward, Schwartz said.
