Britney Is "A Sick Little Girl," Dad Says

Britney Spears' father, Jamie, has spoken out about his daughter's third trip to rehab.

Jamie Spears told Fox News that the troubled singer is "a sick little girl ... we're just trying to take care of her, and other than that I have no comment."

Speaking Thursday from his Louisiana home, Spears said his daughter's issues are "not about what other people think," adding that he and his ex-wife, Lynne, are "concerned about our daughter."

Meanwhile, there were reports Friday that Spears' ex, Kevin Federline, had visited Spears in rehab in Malibu.

The pop star's manager confirmed to The Associated Press on Thursday that Spears is at the Promises Malibu drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in Southern California. He's not giving any other details.

Video taken shortly before Britney Spears checked into rehab for a third time is a frightening example of why her family thinks she needs help.

The video, shot by the paparazzi agency X-17, shows Spears pounding a photographer's car with an umbrella, her face contorted in rage. She was apparently upset that the paparazzi followed her to estranged husband's house.

High-Profile Healing
Spears can be heard saying "don't guys, please, please guys don't do this" before slamming the umbrella into the car's closed window. Then she dropped the F-bomb toward the photographers a couple of times.

Spears was wearing a gray pullover, running shorts, white sneakers — and a pearl necklace. To see the photos and video, click here.

Spears' downward spiral has been the topic of tabloids and blogs since her split from Federline in November.

What everyone must remember is that Britney is a young person who is very confused at the minute. The last few months have been a rollercoaster ride for her. It would maybe be in her best interest if people stop putting her in the limelight before its too late and let her have the time to herself to get things striaght in her own mind. A break to go somewhere, another country, she is welcome in ireland anytime, for peace and tranquility. Then she can come back stronger than yesterday!!

compassion- n. com-pas-ion: a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune

nothing you can say will ever change the fact that compassion will improve the quality of life for you and those around you.

No, Daddy - she is not a "sick little girl" - she is a sick woman, who appears to be putting anything and everything else in front of two little boys who deserve so much better.

I don't like Kevin Federline, but I sure as he** hope he gets custody of those children before she harms them any further. Even children as young as they are can have memories that may affect them later in their lives. A cat would be a better mother than SHE is.

Let's see how long she stays in rehab this time.....

I just hope that after all this suffering Britney is going through, she'll be inspired to write serious good music.
Witness Madonna. After she slowed down her hectic lifestyle and did some growing up she's written her best music ever during the last 10 years or so.
My best wishes to Ms. Spears and her family.

I have been clean and sober since i was 22 and that was 25 years ago. Even though it apears that she is in control and making choices. The reality is, it is the addiction that is in control.
Once again, here we see how it afects not only her but everyone around her. The problem with addiction is that we (the addict)are the last to see this, no matter how bad it gets. We get so distorted at the end, we have a tendency to blame everyone, we make bad choices, hurt people we love and much more damadge.
I know, I did all these and worse. Now that i am clean and sober, i am not the same person. I can honestly say this about millions of other people just like me in recovery programs.
There is HOPE.
I know she can pull herself up. If she stays in the center, she will be able to learn about addiction and about recovery.
Even though addiction is cunning, baffling and powerfull, people struggle at first. Its all a very hard process, but there is still HOPE.
All the best Britney.

tmz is reporting that Antonella Barba, that really beautiful girl on American Idol is now more searched on the internet than Britney - I sure hope public interest just moves on to somebody else. It's not like Britney's even got that great a voice. I'm tired of her - time for somebody new.

Gag me. Sorry, Dad, she's not a "little girl." She's a grown woman, capable of *** around, having kids, ruining her career, using drugs, drinking herself into oblivion and flashing anyone who's around. Perhaps if everyone in her life forces her to give up the lost little girl act and holds her accountable for her actions, she just might stand a chance to become a real woman and mother to her children. As of now, this pathetic damsel in distress apparently already has the men running to her rescue - I hear KFed has already jumped on his white steed. Puke.

If her situation is real she needs help. And things like this never take away the stigma of mental illness that happens to ordinary people everyday. Unfortunately, we are going to have to see the death of a star from a mental illness to have reality slapped in our faces, and out of the hands of the standup comics. I presume her situation is real and has mental health issues, the media needs to take a step back and let her breath and straighten out her life.
