(CBS)  Ultra sleek visuals and high-tech crime-solving have made "C.S.I. Miami" the most-watched TV show in the world with 50 million viewers, including 18.1 million Americans.

Stars David Caruso and Adam Rodriguez were able to attend the Super Bowl, which was held in Miami, where Caruso lives and much of the show is actually filmed. The Early Show co-anchor Julie Chen talked to the actors at Dolphins stadium about their dramatic upcoming two-part episode.

In the episode, the two investigators are in danger when Caruso's character, Horatio's old enemy, Clavo Cruz, returns. An explosion occurs sending a truck full of confiscated weapons onto its side. Weapons spill out all over the street and are scooped up by the public, Horatio links the crime to Cruz, who he put away for murder years ago.

On the day of Cruz's arraignment, a confiscated missile is launched into the courthouse to aid his escape, with an investigator inside. When the team tries to find Cruz, Horatio and Eric, played by Rodriguez, wind up in a shootout. A gun battle ensues and Eric is shot.

"We come close to losing him and it takes us two hours, two Monday nights to fix the story and get him back to health and, thank God, we do because he's very important to us," Caruso said.

It's drama like this that has allowed "CSI: Miami" to topple "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives," which ranked second and third. The spin-off has even overtaken the mother ship, "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," which finished in sixth place, according to a survey by business research firm Informa Telecoms & Media.

Watch Caruso and Rodriguez talk about the upcoming episode here.

"C.S.I." airs Monday nights at 9 p.m. Central time and 10 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

I hope csi-Miami does not lose Eric he is so important to the show. When he got shot, all my friends called each other either that same night or the next morning very upset. If he is taken off the show I will not watch it anymore. They would have to replace him with someone better looking and charming. The other CSI male character is awful, where did they get him from. His personality, etc is boring and does not add anything to the show.

Please keep Eric in the show!!

Thanks, Linda

I didn't watch the "Early Show" interview, didn't want to ruin the story line. BUT...I've taken CSI-Miami off my DVR...at first it was because they shot and killed "Eric" and not "H", then when I read the "Early Show" interview and they are going to bring him back from the dead!!!! Give me a break!

Oh my gosh. I have been looking all over the internet on any information on whether Delko was going to die and Adam was leaving the show. You guys really know how to do DRAMA!!!! CSI:Miami reminds of some of my favorite crime dramas like Miami Vice and NYPD Blue. That's what good TV is. I even watch the episodes on A&E. I really loved David Caruso on Blue but he definately owns Miami. Keep up the good work guys because you definately do drama right!!!!!
