Beauty Queen On Short Leash

Miss USA Tara Conner has successfully completed rehab and is launching a campaign on the media circuit (she's already talked to People magazine, Thursday is "Today" with Matt Lauer and "Entertainment Tonight").

According to the New York Post, Donald Trump and the Miss Universe Organization are keeping a tight leash on the embattled beauty queen. Friends tell the newspaper that Conner has moved into a bigger apartment that she now shares with a chaperone.

"She is not allowed to go to clubs anymore … and she has a lot of new rules for going out," a source told the Post.

A spokesperson for the Miss USA organization told the newspaper, "Plans to move to a bigger apartment with a chaperone have been in the works for months, and Tara is free to go wherever she wants."

Conner, now 21, was evaluated last month because of a few too many late nights out on the town in New York City, where she is said to have engaged in underage drinking. Local newspapers reported that Conner tested positive for cocaine.

2NBC says that in her interview Conner will discuss her rehab stint in detail and she'll talk about a possible appearance in "Playboy" magazine, as well as give her take on the feud between Rosie O'Donnell and her boss, Donald Trump.

Conner told People magazine in a recent interview that she is an alcoholic.

"I didn't think I had any kind of issue going into rehab. I even said, 'I'll get some free therapy,' or something like that — and that was so ridiculous," she says. "But I've realized I do have an issue. I suffer from the disease of alcoholism and addiction. And if there's anything that I want people to know it's the severity of this disease and what it can do to people."

The USA side has turned into a circus, This would never happen in the America side. I know that Miss America is a true queen, the original, ever since Trump took over it has becomed a total disaster, he just ruined the pageant, who is going to want to be the next Miss USA 2008 after this. Keep it clean and set a good example like Miss America.

I think this girl should've been booted off the Miss USA pagent. She didn't follow the rules of conduct, and, I think there were plenty of girls in the pagent that were just as cute, if not, cuter than her.

Beauty pagents are stupid period. I know atleast 20 girls in my town, Huntington Beach, CA, that blow her away as far as looks!

It makes me sick that these people can just say 'Ooops Im an alcoholic." It must make all the actual alcoholoics infuriated that young girls use this as a way to get their reputation back. Why can't they just say "I'm 20 years old and this is what I would be doing if I were in college like other 20 year olds."
