FBI Probes Shooting Of Mexican Immigrant

Francisco Javier Dominguez-Rivera, 22, of Puebla, Mexico, was killed Friday in a confrontation with the unidentified agent north of the U.S.-Mexico border between Bisbee and Douglas.
On Sunday, Calderon expressed his "most energetic protest" against the shooting.
A group of seven people were crossing the desert and the agent took six of them into custody without incident, authorities said.
But the agent and Dominguez-Rivera began fighting, authorities said. The agent, who believed his life was in danger, shot and killed the man, the Border Patrol said previously. An autopsy was scheduled Wednesday.
The agent was put on paid administrative leave pending the investigation.
FBI spokeswoman Deborah McCarley and Gustavo Soto, a spokesman with the U.S. Border Patrol Tucson sector, both declined Monday to provide details of the case.

- I support the agent 100%, and I'm glad everyone else does too. Our country is being colonized right under our noses, and it looks as if our elected leaders couldn't care less.
We have to start speaking more loudly and more publically about this illegal immigration problem, or the legislature and El Presidente Bush will pass an amnesty bill. WE CANNOT LET THEM DO IT. - Reply to this comment
- I totally agree with frankbowers and all the others who are in support of the border patrol agent. Deport any and every illegal here in this country...and stop anyone who tries to enter with any necessary force. Who do you think you are demanding rights...like all the legal citizens??? Call me racist or whatever...at least I stand up for what is right. If you want to be a citizen do it the honorable way and take all the steps in order to become a citizen.

- I think this man should be given 10,000$ as he prevented one man from entering this country ever again legal or illegal. Needs to happen more often. The BorPat is our last line of defense. Our government could care less regardless Rep. or Dem.They have their hands out for the illegals contribution so as they can stay in the office another 2,4, 6 years what ever. Here in Texas they (the illegals birthed children and mothers ) abuse our system and drain our coffers and think it is right; at least, government in Mexico thinks it is the thing to do. They need to be shot not sent home all sent home are coming back and creating an expense we in America do not need they might get caught 20 times but remember it only requires to not get caught 1 time to become a problem. - Mexican immigrant? A group of seven people were crossing the desert? Why don't we call them what they really are. Criminals! What else do you call people breaking the law? This person wasn't an immigrant, he was in the act of breaking a law and was shot while resisting arrest. Boo Hoo

- I agree, give the agent a medal. I am so tired of illegals coming to this country, popping out little ones, then getting food stamps that they haul home in a brand new Suburban or other SUV. Don't think that happens? I see it first hand every week. On the news, murder, drugs, theft and nine times out of ten, you guessed it, the surname is Hispanic. We need to write our Congressmen and Senators that action needs to be taken and if it's not, then they will be voted out. Stand up America, let's take our country BACK!!

- If all the facts are in and this story is accurate, then let the border Patrol officer should be back to work! There should be an investigation, we always need to verify that the reports of the incident match the evidence, but this should be done quickly and if exonerated, then put the man/woman back to work!

- We can not allow the President of Mexico to dictate the investigations into our Border Patrol Agents when his people are breaking the Immigration laws of the USA. Why is the USA trying to appease this man and his criminal citizens. Fighting with a Border Agent is the last thing they should be doing while breaking our laws of immigration. This has got to stop. We need to write to our Government and make it clear that these men and women are doing a job to protect us from these illegal aliens and their actions should not be questioned when the President of Mexico cannot accept that his citizens were breaking the laws of our land and were injured and killed in the process. Mexico needs to straighten up and keep these illegals out of our country then our Border Patrol won't be forced to take actions such as this.
