Ex-Miss Nevada Says "No" To Playboy

Dethroned Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees has quickly rebounded from her public firing by pageant owner Donald Trump.

Rees has signed a two-year, $2 million-plus deal to host a revival of an "estrogen-heavy" variety show at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Jeff Beacher, promoter of the club night known as Beacher's Madhouse, announced Friday.

Miss USA officials, including Trump, last month stripped Rees of her tiara and the chance to compete in the national pageant after provocative photos of her partying and posing in various stages of undress emerged on the Internet.

Rees' agent, Randall Edwards, confirmed that the 22-year-old aspiring actress had taken the job, but added that she had rejected other offers to appear in a Girls Gone Wild adult video and pose for Playboy magazine.

"She's not the kind of girl you'd think when you see those pictures," Edwards said. "People make mistakes."

"She's a cool girl, she's beautiful, she's fun, she's got a great stage presence. I thought she'd be a great fit," Beacher told The Associated Press.

Her new gig could involve similarly raucous behavior. Beacher's Madhouse boasts of "live monkeys, the world's oldest male stripper ... and the hottest chicks in Sin City" and bills itself as "Cirque du Soleil meets Girls Gone Wild."

After closing last July, Beacher's Madhouse is scheduled to return March 31, and take place the last Saturday of every month at The Joint nightclub in the Hard Rock.

People, we have more important issues than to worry about some young lady is doing. We all have done something in are youth that we regret. What we need to worry about is our soldiers dying or losing limbs for a war that was started by lies.
