Trump: Barbara Lied To Both Of Us

By
Amy Bonawitz
(CBS)  Donald Trump has sent a letter to nemesis Rosie O'Donnell in which he says that O'Donnell has good reason to be angry since Barbara Walters has lied to them both, Entertainment Tonight reports on its Web site.

The letter, which begins "Dear Rosie," says that Walters called Trump while she was away on vacation and told him that working with O'Donnell "is like living in hell." He says that Walters told him "more pointedly, 'Donald, never get into the mud with pigs' and, 'don't worry, (Rosie) won't be here for long,' " he writes in the letter sent on Tuesday to "The View" cohost.

"Barbara knows exactly what she told me over the phone and she has to live with it. Perhaps that's why her initial statement was so mild!" Trump said.

Trump referenced the New York Post's report of a fight between Walters and O'Donnell during hair and make-up before Monday's show.

"An article in today's New York Post indicates that you blew up at Barbara Walters for being a 'liar.' Actually, I don't blame you, but in fact she lied to both of us!" Trump writes in the letter.

"After your maniacal and foolish rant against me two weeks ago, Barbara called me from her vacation (I did not call her) in order to apologize for your behavior," he says. "She had heard that I was going to retaliate against you and tried to talk me out of it. She very much wanted me to go on the show as soon as she got back so that she could 'patch things up' (I said no)."

2Trumps added that he saw Walters eating at a restaurant about two months ago and asked how O'Donnell was doing on "The View" to which she sarcastically rolled her eyes and responded, "Donald, do you have to ruin my meal."

"In any event," Trump wrote in his closing, "you have a good reason to be angry. Please give my warmest regards to Kelly!"

Lastly, he added: "I was surprised that you let your spat with Barbara get into the newspapers, but, as I have always said and as you proved with Rosie, the magazine, you are very self destructive. You must work on this for your own good!"

Clearly, things aren't as hunky dory between Walters and O'Donnell as they made it seem on Monday's "View." The New York Post reported Tuesday that prior to taking the stage for Monday's show, tempers erupted in the hair and make-up room between Walters and O'Donnell.

In a fight that started around 8:30 a.m., O'Donnell called the show's creator "a (bleeping) liar," the newspaper reports. Walters, fresh from a two week vacation, reportedly tried to hug the comedian to which O'Donnell recoiled and said, "You kept me in the newspapers this whole time!" spies tell the Post.

A rep for "The View" says the reported fight was merely a squabble. "From the first day Rosie spoke about Donald Trump, Barbara has been nothing but supportive of Rosie. Whatever happened in the hair and makeup room was only a squabble. It's business as usual. Everyone has moved on," publicist Karl Nilsson told The ShowBuzz Tuesday.

During the spat, Walters reportedly tried to calm O'Donnell down by saying, "I did everything I could to squash the story." But O'Donnell fired back: "You didn't call me for 10 goddamn days, and you didn't tell me what you were going to say on television!"

O'Donnell is reportedly furious that Walters never called Trump's statements an outright lie. "You went all around this and never called (Trump) a liar. You never said, 'Donald is lying.' You never called him a liar," she reportedly said to Walters.

I am quite disappointed in the whole thing. I like Rosie and admire her ability to speak out. She is a giver and has a heart of gold. Now, It's time to quit. The repeated insults are non-sense, petty and boring. Ms B. Walters we know straddled the fence on this one. She tried to play the left hand against the right one and got caught in the crossfire. Shame on you Barbara.

The behavior of Mr. Trump in his confrontation with Ms. O'Donnell reminds me of the movie The Fatal Attraction. I am still not sure where to place the rabbit.

I guess the 'View' is a little to 'Rosie' these days!...Barbara, I am sooo disappointed in you.
I am no fan of either Donald or Rosie and now I know exactly why! Neither of them have a drop of class running in their veins! proof that class cannot be bought or taught!
The view has turned into what reminds me of a bunch of hens sitting around pecking on each other until they draw blood!...if you turn the sound off and just watch, all you see is Rosie's mouth wide open...she has taken over the show and ruined it with her 'agendas'...we are TIRED OF PEOPLE WITH AGENDAS!

ROSIE O'DONNELL HAS FINALLY MADE ME LAUGH FOR THE FIRST AND THE SECOND TIME.

First, she claims to be a professional. Now I am a professional. I have to not only have a five year college degree or be grandfathered on a 4 year degree both with required specific majors. I had to study for additional months and take specialized training to pass one of the hardest tests to enter any profession. I have to complete very substantial and very technical continuing professional education every year in one of three states that hold to the very toughest standards. Every three years a specialist conducts a review of my practice. This year I had no deficiencies related to myself or my firm.

Rosie claiming to be a professional gave me a first laugh.

Next, she claims that Trump is obsessed with her. She seems to forget she fired the first shot and she got hold of a guy who will not take things lying down. It is not her he is obsessed with. It is what she did that he has at least up to this point dealt very aggressively with.

If someone called me a pimp I might not take it as kindly as Trump. She is the classic yellow bellied school yard bully who gets hit between the eyes, sees he or she can't take this guy straight up, then runs behind a tree mocking nyaa, nyan, nyannayn.

This gave me the second laugh.

Sence when does being bullish make a person a comedian. O'Donnell is a bully that thinks she's a comedian. And she knows her fame days are just about over. She started this fight to drum up interest in her. She picked on someone she didn't like, but made the mistake on picking on someone that had enough money that could finish off her career. Trump isn't a nice guy,but he does a lot of business with professionals that could make or break her career. And I think Walters needs to retire. She's showed 3 times over that you can't lie and get away with it. The whole View needs to go !

Hey boys,

Can you cool the sexist, homophobic comments.
You can say you hate Rosie without being creepy creatures from the 20th century.
