(CBS)  A popular Britney Spears fan site is closing up shop in part because the star has lost her credibility with fans, the Web site WorldofBritney.com said in a press release issued online Wednesday.

"As Britney keeps losing her identity and credibility within fans and industry people, so is WoB. We're moving on to greater, bigger things," Ruben Garay, the Webmaster and founder of the site said in the release. "I would therefore like to announce the permanent shut down of World of Britney.com beginning January 31st, 2007."

The site, which launched in 2000, will morph into a celebrity blog, competing with blogger Perez Hilton among others, the message said.

"I think that WoB has had its run.......its feet are not holding firm anymore, not because of my ability to run it, but because I believe Britney is unfortunately done (for me at least)," the message said.

Spears is currently working on a new album and in recent months she's settled in to a party lifestyle that has been viewed as an attempt to refurbish her pop star image.

Rumor has it that she's doing Hilton's ex Matt Leinart. They just hooked up in a Scottsdale bar called Jackrabbits. After Jackrabbits they were seen going through the drive through at Taco Bell. After that, they headed to the double wide Britney was renting in Buckeye south of town. Each came outside twice to pee. The next morning after a Grand Slam breakfast at Denny's, Britney asked Matt to take her to Zia's to see if they had any 8-track tapes she could buy for her new stereo. After realizing she left her kids at Denny's, they rushed back to pick them off and then dropped them off at Mike Tyson's house so he could babysit. Then, it was an afternoon of bowling and drinking Coors Light before heading to Luby's Cafeteria for the early bird discount.

Bless you, Webmommy!!! Absolutely. How can a party life in night clubs, surrounded by drunken horn dog strangers trying to get in your pants be more interesting than your own family? Look at what the celebrity lifestyle of Lionel Ritchie did to his daughter! Look at Paris Hilton! Look at what Drew Barrymore went through because of the Alchoholic Curse of the Barrymores! Children of celebrities maybe are not more likely to end up like their parents than the general population, but when you are in the spotlight every DUI, every naughty photo or video tape, every divorce, even every pimple is out there for the whole world to see! How can anyone have such a low level of self respect as to allow themselves to be famous merely for being an idiot?

Her kids will know what their mother is soon enough. I can only hope they don't view her as a positive parental role model & take after her!

I like being the boring square mom so that the eyes my daughter rolls at me are also looking at me with respect & admiration.

Just because you can AFFORD to have a nanny/babysitter raise your kids for you doesn't mean that you should. She didn't just make a few mistakes like everyone keeps saying, she's a train wreck. Being a stay at home mother of 3 children and not rich, I cannot understand why someone would choose to go out every single night and get drunk rather than be with my children. These aren't teenage kids; one is a NEWBORN. So, do you really think that after a night of skankiness with her *** friends that she is getting up for overnight feedings? Is she up with her babies in the morning mothering them? Yeah RIGHT. What an irresponsible embarrassment to motherhood she is. I don't care what or who she was before the kids; it's NOW that counts. A lot of people won't forget that. Good for "World of Britney", I commend them.

Sorry but U people are so retarded....so what she made mistakes...she is a human being...unfortunatly in the spotlight, but that does not give anybody the right to judge her...everyone makes mistakes!!! And she's laughing all the way to the top...watch...the year 2007 will be her year...Britt will RULE!!!!

Of course, this will have no affect on Bimbo Brit. Has she tattooed her kids yet? Any piercings? Wouldn't surprise me. She all the parenting skills of Michael Jackson.
