Dolly Is Jolly About Jessica's Flub

By

(CBS)  Dolly Parton had a kind message for Jessica Simpson following her flawed rendition of "9 to 5" at the Kennedy Center Honors taping on Sunday.

"Jessica is so great that one day they will probably honor her!" the country star told "Inside Edition."

Parton was honored at the White House gala along with Steven Spielberg, Smokey Robinson, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and conductor Zubin Mehta.

When Simpson took to the stage for a tribute rendition of Parton's hit she stood awkwardly, flubbed the words, said something about being "so nervous," and then rushed off stage right. The singer apparently cried after the mishap that left the crowd silent.

"If I were fortunate to be asked to perform for her I would probably forget my wig! Anyway, she can come over to my house and we will sing it together sometime," Parton said.

Too bad, Jessica. I too had an embarrasing experience performing in front of a crowd ( lol high school talent show) I was mortified when I couldn't remember the piano piece that someone else was singing to! It takes a lot of guts to get up in front of people and perform. BACK OFF you losers who have nothing better to do but put others, probably more talented, down. Go back into your caves and play with yourselves! Yeah, I'm no Dolly P. I'll tell you off!

Jessica has the intelligence of a gnat. Her daddy is the same. No outstanding talent either.

It's too bad that the only thing required to open doors these days is a smoking body.

As always, a classy response from Dolly.

However, I'd like to know who thought having the lightly talented and soon to be forgotten Jessica Simpson share the bill with giants like Smokey Robinson, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Zubin Mehta was a good idea.

"The Dolly"

Dolly Parton once said she would like to be the female "Elvis Presley". Dolly is better than that she is "The DOLLY". Dolly is more than glitter, blond whig, and huge buxom - and she proves it when she even finds good things to say about a young lady who flubbed the song "9 to 5" while trying to fill her shoes for a brief moment at the Kennedy Center. Dolly doesn't pass judgement on anyone even prostitutes. She finds good things to say or she shuts up. This isn't only because she was raised by a wonderful caring Mother - Dolly deserves to wear "Josephs Coat of Many Colors". Dolly proves she is a genuine and wonderful lady with class every time she writes and or sings her songs. Kennedy Center Honors should feel honored to have Dolly accept their honors. Jessica Simpson's career could have taken a big negative hit and she should be very grateful - she has been protected by a real angle here on earth - the one and only "DOLLY".

Dolly has always struck me as a down to earth real nice person. I always remember the comment of Whitney Housten when asked if she knew who wrote the song I'll aways love you and she was told Dolly Parton and Dolly said she'd like to sing it with her. Whitney sneered and thought she was to good for Dolly.

Anybody who has ever listened to Dolly speak will not be surprised by this.... Every single female singer working in the business today would be doing themselves a favor if they tried to model themselves after Dolly's class, humility, spirit, and dignity. She's a wonderful woman who's never been tainted by her celebrity.
