Phil Hirschkorn

Phil came to CBS after working for 15 years at CNN, where he specialized in covering terrorism and politics.
In addition to the Sept. 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center and the July 2005 attacks on London's mass transit system, Phil has covered major prosecutions of al Qaeda, including the East Africa embassy bombings trial in New York and the trial of Zacarias Moussaoui in Virginia.
Phil has participated in the coverage of every national election since 1992, traveling extensively with the campaigns of Hillary Clinton in 2000 and John Kerry and John Edwards in 2004.
He also produced investigative reports on 9/11, Iraq's efforts to procure weapons of mass destruction, the NYPD shooting of Amadou Diallo, art looted by the Nazis, and the use of jails as dumping grounds for mental patients.
So far at CBS, Phil has produced stories on civilian contractors in Iraq, homeland security spending, rendition, electronic voting machines, and other subjects.
