(CBS)  Before joining the Evening News he worked for three years on the Wednesday edition of 60 Minutes and on staff at 48 Hours Mystery.

He graduated from the Columbia School of Journalism in 2001 and that year co-produced a documentary for HBO called “Facing Arthur” based on his Master’s thesis.

Rey was the Warsaw, Poland-based correspondent for Bridge News (formerly Knight-Ridder) and a freelance writer covering Central Europe and the Balkans for the Chicago Tribune, Dallas Morning News and the Economist. He has written for the New York Times Magazine, GQ and Men’s Journal.
