Duff Reportedly Splits With Madden

(CBS)  Joel Madden and Hilary Duff have split, according to Star magazine's Web site.

A manager for Madden's band, Good Charlotte, confirmed to the magazine that "Joel is at present, single."

The Chicago Tribune's Liz Crokin reported yesterday that Madden, 27, was a guest DJ at a club called Enclave last week and talked openly about how he is single. Crokin reports that Madden said Duff, 19, broke up with him and that the age difference between the two had been an issue.

The report said that the singer took pictures with some ladies at the bar and partied at the club until closing time.

In the October issue of Seventeen magazine, Duff discussed the compromises she and Madden made for their relationship.

"I mean, he's been clean for two years, and that's something I deal with. And not because I go out all the time and party — I am so not into that," she said. "It's just that it makes him a little bit different. Do you know what I mean? ... I can't say I'm never going to drink for the rest of my life — I wouldn't want to make that decision. He has to — and he's really adjusted."

Duff and Madden have been dating for more than two years.

A rep told The ShowBuzz Tuesday that he had no comment on the report.
