(CBS)  Nate Gonzalez is the latest to be voted off "Survivor: Cook Islands" thanks in part to Jonathan Penner, who Gonzalez called a "dirty, stinky fruitcake."

After he got kicked off, Gonzalez unleashed on Penner, who had been scheming with Yul Kwon.

"I have to be honest; he was a back stabber," Gonzalez told The Early Show co-anchor Harry Smith. "He betrayed us. Outside the game he was a good father, a good person, we got along."

The show was going well for Gonzalez. He was a member of the tribe with more people and even started developing a relationship with Parvati Shallow. To viewers, it seemed like Penner was at a disadvantage, but Gonzalez never counted him out.

"We wanted to save him just to keep numbers," he told Smith. "I kind of, in the back of my head, I knew we couldn't really trust him."

The vote came down to Kwon and Gonzalez, but Gonzalez said that as soon as he saw his name come up first, he knew it was over.

"I had that fooling in my gut. I saw Jonathan and Yul speaking a lot and they were going back and forth so I knew something was up," he said.

While Kwon and Penner were strategizing how to keep themselves in the game at Gonzalez's expense, he was getting cozy with Shallow.

"It's nice to be affectionate with people out there," he said. "It wasn't anything about love, but Parvati was a great person. She's my medicine. It's nice to be affectionate. You are out there alone, so it's nice to be affectionate with your, I guess you could say, your tribe mates. No love, though."

Now that he is back in the real world, Gonzalez, a hip-hop musician said he has been taking it easy trying to readjust.

"This takes you for a ride, you know, but things are going good," he said.

Nate's right Penner is a snake. I know it'a game but you can tell the good people from the bad...the ones that can lie so easily...makes you wonder how different they are not playing the game.

Aw heck. It's a G-A-M-E. OBVIOUSLY Jonathan felt that his best chance of hanging on the longest was by Allying with his old tribe. Sure no one trusts him but...you've GOT to remember that you've only known these people for less than a month NOT a lifetime (there's very very few people that I'd trust with $$ after knowing them for a short time). I have no doubt that Jonathan will flip flop a few more times before the end. He's good at something....he's managed to turn Raro against one another. "Outwitting" your co-players is part of the G-A-M-E.

There's a million dollar carrot dangling in front of all of them...heck I want it too. At the "end of the game" if I was in the final two...would I want somebody that everybody "loves" sitting next to me or a snake that screwed everybody over? It might be something to think about. I'm not all that sure who I would choose but...I'd definately have to give some consideration to the "snake".

Why does Nate hate Jonathan? they had no bonds, they were in fact at loggerheads.

Nate should be angry that OZZY did not secretly vote Yul, get the immunity idol out & used, yet achieve the goal of getting nate out but score off Yul. (and be in a great position to win).

And Ozzy could have played dumb about it and blamed Jonathan for the play.
