Another big night brings out popular performers and the glitz that goes with them.

  • Interactive The Grammys

Performers, winners, losers, fashion stars and disasters, awards history and more.

(CBS/AP)  Gwen Stefani performed the single "Wind It Up" from her forthcoming album, "The Sweet Escape." Stefani yodels and sings on the track which uses a sample from "The Sound Of Music."

Jay-Z, fresh from his "retirement," performed "Show Me What You Got" from his new album "Kingdom Come."

Snoop Dogg and Akon closed the show with a medley of songs, beginning with their collaboration "I Wanna Love U." Their performance included lots of dancers in high heels, one performer slinking up and down a stripper pole, and Snoop tossing play money around.

Akon followed with his single "Smack That" from his new album "Konvicted." Snoop Dogg finished the set with "That's That" the new single from his album "Tha Blue Carpet Treatment."

2Sometimes, it is the presenters that offer the most memorable "performances" on the show. But, this year there weren't many outrageous moments.

I tuned the the awards...and promptly shut it off! Since when does watching people wearing next to nothing and moving around like they're prostitutes constitute talent??? I've got better things to do with my time than waste it on that trash...

Has anyone else noticed that Brit's hair grows back remarkably fast? She needs to lose the long hair. She looked like a mermaid.

Actually it has been established that it really WAS Fed-Ex in the crate which was dumped at sea.

It was noted that a school of hammerhead sharks which had been lurking in the area quickly hightailed it and left the area without partaking in their customary feeding frenzy, giving further indisputable scientific proof of their incredible powers of smell.

    kirk franklin representin'! sho nuff...

Casting was probably more "deserving", but any winner in that category doesn't care about the prize if they're a inspirational singer.
