Foxworthy Defines Redneck Humor

(CBS)  Based on the success of his bestselling "Jeff Foxworthy's Redneck Dictionary," the comedian who put redneck humor on the map has come up with a sequel so readers can fine-tune their language skills.

Jeff Foxworthy's "Redneck Dictionary II: More Words You Thought You Knew the Meaning Of" tackles such words as:

Infamy: Another person's intent to exact physical punishment. "Ever since I stole his girlfriend, Bobby's had it infamy."

Assassin: To disrespect verbally. "Don't just stand there assassin me, boy — go clean your room!"

Honor student: To be positioned over, and supported by, a pupil. "Yeah, I knew piano lessons after midnight was weird, but I still didn't suspect nothin' till I caught her honor student."

In appearance on The Early Show Foxworthy defined a few more terms for co-anchor Harry Smith. Foxworthy also told Smith about new career developments, his background as a Southerner and his plans for Thanksgiving, which includes dinner for 27 of his wife's Louisiana relatives.

Foxworthy stars in and produces the television series, "Blue Collar TV," based on his Blue Collar Comedy Tour, the movie and its sequel.

With an HBO special and two Showtime specials to his credit, he is the largest selling comedy-recording artist in history, a multiple Grammy Award nominee and best selling author of 11 books. Widely known for his redneck jokes, Foxworthy goes well beyond that to explore the humor in everyday family interactions and human nature, a style that has been compared to Mark Twain's.

He has a line of greeting cards and specialty products through American Greetings and in October 2003, the Nevada Gaming Commission granted approval for Aristocrat Technologies, Inc. to place its Jeff Foxworthy video slot games in Nevada casinos.

The Georgia native lives with his wife, a New Orleans native, and two daughters in Atlanta. He is the honorary chairman of the Duke Children's Classic Golf Tournament. With his help, the hospital, which specializes in treating children with cancer, has raised more than $4 million in the last four years.
