How Do 'CSI' Special-Effects People Do It?
(CBS)
Special-effects specialists of the hit CBS drama "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" strive to make everything look as real as possible. But cast members revealed a few of the tricks of that trade to Early Show co-anchor Julie Chen.
In Thursday night's episode, among other things, a car burns and someone gets badly burned.
George Eads, who plays Nick Stokes, and Paul Guilfoyle, who portrays Capt. Jim Brass, told Chen how the show's crew team created the car fire and burn blisters on the skin of a victim.
The episode dealt with child molestation, and Robert David Hall, Dr. Al Robbins on the show, said dealing with such an important issue is hard, but necessary.
"I'm a father myself," Hall said, "and I can't imagine — you don't even have to be a parent to be concerned about that. One of the great things about having a show that's as popular as ours is; sometimes very important issues can be discussed."
