(CBS)  FALL MUST-HAVE NO. 3: BROW KIT

Good news for bushy-browed girls the world round: pencil-thin, overly-arched brows are officially out, and natural, full brows are in (just like some of the '80s inspired fashions, the Brooke Shields eyebrow circa 1984 is back big time). However, brows are not only full, but groomed as well.

So what if you're a victim of over-plucking from seasons past, or if your brows are an overgrown mess? It's time to invest in a brow kit, brow shaper, and brow gel. A tip: when using a brow filler, tinted brow gel or mousse, don't go too dark: paler shades will fill your brows best. A few of the best:

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills 7 Piece Brow Kit ($85) includes anything and everything you'll ever need for your eyebrows: stencils (to create the perfect shape), tweezers, brow filler, brow gel ... you can't help but get the perfect brow with this kit. If you want to spend a little less, try the Anastasia Brow Ex-Press Palette ($38) — with four brow stencils, two brow powders, an angled brush and highlighter, you can use your own tweezers and get to work.
  • Laura Mercier Brow Pencil in Blonde ($18) provides a lesser degree of pigmentation for achieving subtle, hair-like strokes.
  • Pantina Brow Whiz ($6) is a double-ended wand that is one part brow pencil, one part brow gel.
  • Becca Brow Powder ($20) is used by almost every celebrity brow shaper without their own line of product; it's formulated to be applied in fine strokes that resemble natural hairs ... and it does double duty, too — it can be used wet as an eyeliner as well.
FALL MUST-HAVE NO. 4: THE THIN BLACK HEADBAND

Whether you're going for a polished, ladylike coif, or a funky, textured 'do, the thin black headband is a must this season. It keeps stray hairs off the face (to show off your fall makeup!) and looks chic and sophisticated — even if you pair it up with a messy ponytail. It's an accessory that any woman with any hair length/style can wear.

For those who have hated wearing those plastic headbands that pinch your head to the brink of unbearable pain, there's even better news: the black headband of today is made with softer fabrics, like black ribbon or other fabrics (we have one from Goody that looks like black crocodile skin!) that won't give you a headache by day's end. A few to try:

  • Goody Park Avenue collection headbands in Skinny Black Satin ($4.99) and Skinny Black Faux Croc ($4) are a cheap yet chic option

  • Zitomer's The Finest Accessories black headband ($20) or Anna black headband ($15) instantly make your coif look incredibly polished and ladylike.

FALL MUST-HAVE NO. 5: DARK NAIL POLISH

It's been over a decade since Chanel created the nail polish sensation with the release of their "Vamp" nail color. And now, dark nails are back — deep, blood red, brown and borderline black colors are pushing pale pinks off fingernails around the world. Chanel is back in the game with their Black Satin nail color (a color even deeper than "Vamp" — and a color that you can't find anywhere — even in the Chanel PR department! This stuff has flown off shelves across the country), but there are lots of alternatives for those of us who can't get our hands on a bottle of the expensive French stuff. A few notable colors:

  • Nars Nail Polish in Gimme Shelter and Chinatown ($15 each) is a new formula designed to improve flexibility, durability, gloss and shine and chip-resistant.
  • Deborah Lippman Collection nail color in Hit Me With Your Best Shot and Dark Side of the Moon ($15 each) pack a wallop of color to your nails while strengthening them with protein biotin, and calming them with green tea which makes them wearable for even the most sensitive skin types.
  • Black Radiance Calcium Enriched Nail Color in Black Licorice ($1.99) is fortified with calcium and other conditioning agents to help keep nails strong, healthy and flexible.
  • Tropez Nail Enamel in Black Satin ($.99) An inexpensive to the Chanel version of the same name, this is a borderline-black nail color packs in color and shine.
