Tara Reid Opens Up About Plastic Surgery

(CBS)  Tara Reid talks about her two botched plastic surgery procedures and how her decision to do a reality show ruined her career in the new issue of US weekly.

She was once a hot commodity in Hollywood (flashback to the "American Pie" movies). But more recently, even the actress admits that her career has become somewhat of a joke.

That reputation is due in part to a reality show she did on E! called "Taradise," which showed her penchant for partying. She tells US Weekly it was "probably the stupidest thing I ever did … I didn't know it was going to ruin my career."

A wardrobe malfunction at a party for Diddy in 2004 in which one breast was visible for all the world to see didn't help either. Shots of her deformed nipple quickly circulated on the Internet, and Reid says she was "devastated."

Reid tells the magazine that when she consulted a plastic surgeon in 2004 she "asked for big Bs." But instead, "he gave me Cs, and I didn't want them."

After the surgery she immediately noticed that her nipples were deformed. "But after six months of 'it's going to get better,' it started to get worse and worse. I never thought I would have nipples that looked like this," Reid says.

That embarrassing red carpet moment came shortly after. "I was smiling like a fool and people were snapping away. When I realized it, I cried and begged the photographers not to print it, but it was everywhere … I was on the Web sites as having the ugliest boobs in the world," she says.

Reid also had a procedure called body contouring done by the same surgeon and was unhappy with the results. "My stomach became the most ripply, bulgy thing," she says. "I had a hernia, this huge bump next to my bellybutton. As a result, I couldn't wear a bikini. I lost a lot of work."

Last month, after doing some thorough research on doctors, Reid went under the knife again to get the previously botched jobs corrected. She says she saw a therapist for about a year to get help with her confidence issues and has settled down since her "Taradise" days. She stars in "Incubus," a direct-to-Web movie that premieres on Oct. 31.

Addressing the reports of a feud between herself and Paris Hilton, Reid says, "Paris was a friend of mine. Lately it seems like there's a lot of negative energy in her life, and I just don't want her around me right now."
