(CBS) Actor Chad Lowe joins the cast of FOX's "24" in 2007. Lowe will play a savvy politico named Reed Pollock, according to a press release from the network.
He joins several other familiar faces who've joined the hit show, including Peter MacNicol, Regina King and James Cromwell.
Lowe, the ex-husband of actress Hilary Swank, won an Emmy for his role as AIDS patient Jesse McKenna on the TV series "Life Goes On," which ran from 1989-1993.
The sixth season premiere of "24" airs Jan. 14 at 8 p.m. on FOX. The drama picks up 20 months after the season five finale.
Season five ended with a battered and bloodied Jack Bauer (Emmy-winner Kiefer Sutherland) captured by Chinese agent — his future uncertain.
