MySpace.com Used To Bust Taggers

(AP)  Detectives posing as graffiti artists on the MySpace social-networking Web site have tagged 27 suspects in Bucks County, Pa.

Authorities believe they are responsible for more than 1,500 acts of vandalism.

Undercover police posed as taggers on the Web site during the four-month investigation. Bensalem Township police say they befriended vandals who bragged about their work. Some of the alleged vandals even shared photos of their work with the officers on the site.

There were a total of 67 victims, and 34 different graffiti signatures were used.

All but three of the suspects are juveniles. They face criminal mischief charges that range in severity from felony to summary offenses. Damage is estimated at $100,000.
