Four new TV shows are on CBS' fall schedule. "The Class," the only comedy in the group, comes from "Friends" writer David Crane.
"Jericho"
(Mondays 8:30 p.m.)
"Jericho" is a drama about what happens when a nuclear mushroom cloud suddenly engulfs a small Kansas town and spins it into chaos. The town is overcome with fear when it becomes completely isolated and the inhabitants begin to wonder if they're the only Americans who survived the mysterious explosion. Enter hero Jake Green, played by Skeet Ulrich, who is the son of the town's mayor (Gerald McRaney), and reluctantly helps Jericho's scared residents.
2 "Shark"
(Thursdays 10 p.m.)
CBS' "Shark" is a new drama that chronicles the professional and personal life of tough and cutthroat defense attorney Sebastian Stark played by James Woods. He's head of the Los Angeles District Attorney office's high-profile crime unit where he works for his former nemesis, the district attorney, played by Jeri Ryan, and a team of young wannabe lawyers who are quickly learning his dishonest ways.
3 "Smith"
(Tuesdays 10 p.m.)
Ray Liotta plays an expert thief masquerading as an everyday family man in this CBS drama. Liotta's character is part of a close-knit crew of criminals who plot and execute high-stakes robberies. Liotta's wife, played by Virginia Madsen ("Sideways"), is growing more and more weary of turning a blind eye to her husband's pursuits with his criminal partners, played by Simon Baker and Jonny Lee Miller.
