Some say we try diplomacy. Tell me, how do we negotiate with people whose starting point is our death? Ask them to wait for 10 years, before they kill us? When Good negotiates with Evil, Evil will always wins.
And peace follows victory, not words issued by diplomats.
Unfortunately, some Americans are not interested in victory. And they want us to believe that their irresponsible behavior is Patriotic. Well, it's not.
When the critics are more interested in punishing this country over a relatively few incidents at Abu Grahib and Guantanimo than they are in defeating those who want to kill us; when they seek to destroy a foreign surveillance program which is designed to identify those who want to kill us and how they intend to do it; when they want to grant those who want to kill us U.S. constitutional rights, I don't call that patriotic.
Patriotism is rallying behind the country, regardless of party affiliation, to defeat Islamo-Fascism. Patriotism is supporting our troops on the battlefield, not undermining the mission and morale.
But let there be no doubt about this. America will prevail. We are the same America that survived a massively bloody Civil War, defeated the Nazis, and the Soviet Union. Each generation has a responsibility to the next. Our generation won't disappoint.

See all 221 CommentsI am sure that we all would agree that there are some things that are worth fighting for -- our freedom and human rights, the lives of our loved ones, our strongest, highest beliefs. And if someone or some power were trying to steal these things, we might all feel that that would be worth fighting against.
People who hate what progress our country is proudly making know that these things are held sacred. All they have to do is make some nut out there believe the threat to their country and to their family is real, and one of them might feel justified to take action to mitigate it by trying to KILL OUR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!
It is a known fact that before harm is done to someone they are first labeled. The labeling of our president started with "......he's got a chip on his shoulder." " ......he's an Arab" and "he pals around with terrorists", now "........he's a racist", and "he hates white people". Then he is "trying to steal your health insurance and kill your elders in the process along with your job and your future". To show he is truly a threat that needs to justifiably be dealt with, he is "not even an American citizen" so he is the ultimate illegal alien that has stolen the highest American job! This despite the fact that he HAS submitted proof. Now he and his administration are the new Nazis. This is directed at those who would act to "protect" this country from someone who would try to harm it!!!!!!!
Those who propagate this labeling want someone, somewhere in this country, to be so driven by the fear of the above ideas that they feel justified to actually take a step to kill him. We stood by and watched it happen to doctors that performed legal abortions. That we cannot accept, and we cannot stand by and watch it happen again. Good people must stand up against the continued attempts to character-assasinate, and even worse, to encourage real assassination attempts on our President.
I hope you can use your position to shine light on this psychological scheme before it is too late.
Rush has built a large mailing list of those who support his right wing fanatical movement. Everyone always acknowledges Rush has made his fortune through advertising. This is False.
Rush Limbaugh collects millions of dollars selling the mailing list he has collected from his listener's database. When I became a member of Rush's radio fan club I started to receive right wing conservative mailings from all types of groups across America.
Moderate Republicans should be alarmed since much of the mailings I received were from the Republican party. Can you imagine I would receive anything from the Republican party. I am a life long straight ticket Democrat.
Imagine my shock when Rush started his "Adopt a Soldier" program. All Rush was doing was building a data base of American Soldiers so he could sell their names to the highest bidder. You know the program. It is on many of America's Attorney General list as a bad charity to donate money too. It has been seen for the fraud that it is.
Basically I want to return AM radio back to the communities they are sanctioned to serve. Rush is in my way of doing this. Rush must be removed peacefully leaving him the Internet and Sat radio as a refuge. You should pay to listen to Rush so my community can have our community radio station returned to the citizens it was established to serve.

Foreigners are not covered by the constitution. It only protects Americans. From government, that is. Actually that's what the constitution is. Our rights and freedoms are not derived from the constituion. The founding fathers were even fearfull of the bill of rights, as it might be interperted as being our ONLY rights. Hence the clause declaring all things not mentioned, revert to the states. That is why federal departments of education, social security...etc, and anything not explicitely reserved in the constituion for the federal gov. is technically ILLEGAL.
So when I hear liberals that support illegal government agencies, and extending US constitutional rights to terrorists, talk about how important the constituion is to them, I can only shake my head in utter disbelief.

Moreover, as Americans, when one of ours is guilty of a crime, WE go after them. We punish them. Compare that to most of the rest of the world.

What is America, anyway? Sure, it's a nice place, and some interesting people, but America is, first and foremost, A GREAT IDEA that has enriched our lives and the lives of free people all over the world... the name of that great idea is "The United States Constitution." There is no such thing as putting the constitution before America. The constitution IS America. It's what President Bush is sworn to protect "against all enemies, foreign and domestic.", not our economy, not our oil reserves, not our capital gains... and not even our pale white keysters. Al Queda can kill Americans, but only we can kill America itself, when we abandon the great idea that the founding fathers gave us.
Regarding Abu Gharib, etc, if Rush Limbaugh thinks that it's not patriotic to jealously guard against those who would undermine our nation's good name with these atrocities, which evidence suggests has been widespread and systemic, I think his idea of patriotism must be pretty shallow.
It's not fun to speak out against the excesses and the deceit. It's painful and disheartening, We don't do this out of laziness or moral turpitide, we do this because it's the responsibility of a citizen to make sure his nation has a conscience. Without the conscience of her citizens, America dies.
I can only imagine what our country and in turn our world would be like today if that war had not been fought.
Although I've believed in America's military presence in Iraq, at times, even I have vaguely wandered if we should really be there. Could it be that there are parallels between the War in Iraq and the Civil War that seriously need to be pondered and given due consideration.
During the Civil War there were those in the Union who were not in agreement with the war. In 1864 during a lull in fighting soldiers in Georgia possibly thought Serman had quit and gone home but he had not. He stayed the course until his mission was accomplished.
I believe that Iraq was a haven for terrorists and it did pose a threat when America became involved in the conflict there. Vice President *** Cheny clearly explained this on "Meet The Press" on September 10, 2006.
As for terrorist activity, yes we as a country have stirred up a hornet's nest but you don't leave a hornet's nest intact when it poses a threat.

What Rush said on ESPN was that the media gives an upper hand to Black athletes. What is racist about that? What is not true about that?

Since ESPN is a commercial interest they did the smart thing by removing an employee who offended some of the customers. That is a good business decision. Are you saying because you did not agree with ESPN you think it was some kind of communist plot...

I live in a black neighborhood and I swim in the Black neighborhood city pool. That is the most ridiculous statement I've ever read. You are showing your lack of color when you make such statements.
Plus... You know Rush followed up that statement on Blacks not being able to swim with a rant that no one laughed at jokes anymore. Rush then paraded a handicapped listener on his show who poked fum at other handicaps. Rush used this man's jokes to show Rush's "Blacks don't swim" comments were funny. Rush said he was only being funny.
He knew people like you would fill in the stereotype.

And the issue is not about partisan ideology, but making our governmental agencies, officials, and leaders accountable to %u201Call%u201D the American people. True Governor Blanco did initially refuse Bush%u2019s help, whatever %u201Ccrumbs %u201C he managed to spare. And the responsibility before, during and after Katrina does lie on Mayor Nagin and Governor Blanco, but it also; although you%u2019ll never admit it, rest on the shoulders of %u201CBUSH%u201D. It is generally the job of the governor to declare a state of emergency, which had been done, then the FEMA [agency], and not outfit, responds to the diaster, administering aid.
Secondly, if you fully understood European history, or better yet, European imperialism, then you would understand why countries like Iraq, Iran, China, North Korea, etc. dislike the hyprocrisy of European/American ideology.
Thirdly, we certainly do care what other countries think of us, because we have an economically vested interested in them, namely %u201COil, resources, and the exploitation of cheap labor%u201D.
For example, there are European/American companies in Africa, Central/South America, etc, whom exploit that country%u2019s natural resources [oil, diamonds, minerals, etc]
Companies like Home Depot, etc., using %u201Ccash-for-crops%u201D, have exploited and degraded South American soil, to grow plants, which we purchase. And thousands of people are forced into starvation, because they can%u2019t utilize the land for foodstuff..
So, no matter how much %u201Cdribble%u201D and complaining people like you do over Islam, and any other country, Americans/corporations are OIL, RESOURCE, AND CHEAP LABOR DEPENDENT.
Last, since you are such a lover of %u201CCAPITALISM%u201D, I wonder how much of a lover you would be if oil prices reach $8.00 a gallon for regular unlead, in which all American businessess would feel the %u201Cpinch%u201D.
And your job is outsourced, businessess declares bankruptcy, or the company you work for %u201Cfolds%u201D, and you are stuck with a mortgage for a $200,000 plus home, car note, health-care and homeowner insurance, and on top of that taxes, with limited income. Let%u2019s see if your conversative grandiose dellusion help to pay your mortgage, health insurance or your kids college tutition.

Because, according to your theory, and we continue to outsource jobs to China, Indonesia, Bangladesh, etc. then we will eventually feel the economic %u201Ccrunch%u201D here. And if this downward spiral continues, then your conservative middle-class lifestyle will soon become obsolete.
