Andre Braugher

Andre Braugher is best known to television audiences for his critically acclaimed portrayal of Det. Frank Pembleton on "Homicide: Life on the Street." His work on the show earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series in 1996. He was nominated again in 1998 and won.
Braugher is currently nominated for an Emmy in the same category for his portrayal of Nick Atwater in FX's "Thief."
The Chicago-born actor trained at Stanford University and earned his master's degree at the prestigious Julliard School in New York.
Early in his career, Braugher appeared in the feature film "Glory." His recent screen credits include "Duets" and "Poseidon."
In 2001, Braugher received an Emmy nomination for his role as Dr. Ben Gideon in "Gideon's Crossing." He was also nominated in 1996 for his work in the television film "The Tuskegee Airmen" on HBO.
Braugher received an Obie, the off-Broadway equivalent of a Tony, for his portrayal of "Henry V" at the New York Shakespeare in the Park Festival in 1996.
