(CBS)  R&B singer Monica has fans in faraway places, one of whom is the very wealthy playboy Prince Azim of Brunei. A Monica insider told TheShowbuzz.com that the prince loves Monica's music, especially her songs "Angel Of Mine" and "So Gone."

How big a fan is the prince? So much that his family invited her to attend his 24th birthday celebration thrown by his father, the Sultan of Brunei, and sisters the Princesses Azemah and Fadzilla.

The family flew in Monica to attend the lavish party attended by Caprice, Omarion and several other celebrities.

The sultan is among the richest people in the world and has a net worth once estimated at nearly $40 billion.

Prince Azim is often photographed mingling with stars at celebrity parties and events. Last year's party drew Lil' Jon and Kid Rock, among others.

Monica is gearing up for the release of her fourth album "The Makings of Me" which is scheduled for release on Oct. 3.

The Atlanta native is already out with the album's first single and video, "Everytime Tha Beat Drops" featuring Jermaine Dupri & Dem Franchize Boyz.
