Actors, Wrestler And Gymnast Are Among This Season's Entrants

Photo Essay FOX Announces New Season FOX television stars hit the red carpet at the network's annual "upfront."
On Tuesday, Fox announced the list of famous faces who'll be trying to hit the high notes on the series, which debuts Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. ET.
WWE Champion Chris Jericho, Gold Medal-winning gymnast Carly Patterson, "Queer Eye's" pop culture guru Jai Rodriguez, actor/comedian Hal Sparks and actress Lea Thompson ("Back to the Future") are also among the eight celebrities who will compete on the show, hosted by Wayne Brady ("Whose Line Is It Anyway?").
The celebrities will be paired with a different recording artist each week.
Michael Bolton, Macy Gray, and Patti LaBelle, Clint Black, Belinda Carlisle, Peter Frampton, Wynonna Judd, Chaka Khan, Richard Marx, Brian McKnight, Aaron Neville, Smokey Robinson, Randy Travis, Dionne Warwick, and Lee Ann Womack are some of the singers who will appear on the show.
Producer David Foster, who guest starred on Cowell's other reality show "American Idol," will be a judge for the weekly singing competition. Viewers will vote for their favorite duet after each performance episode, and the results will be announced live on the weekly results show, the first being Sept. 8.
The winning celebrity will receive $100,000 to be donated to the charity of his or her choice. Fox says additional recording artists and other show participants will be announced.
