Johansson Teams Up With Reebok
(CBS)
The ShowBuzz's Jessica Derschowitz researched and wrote this story.
Scarlett Johansson has made a name for herself in Hollywood for her acting skills. Now, she's also adding "fashion designer" to her high-profile resume.
Johansson is partnering with Reebok to create a line of what the footwear giant calls "fashion forward, athletic-inspired footwear and apparel."
"Scarlett embodies the pulse points of our brand — individuality, authenticity and a life lived to the fullest in perpetual motion," Reebok President and CEO Paul Harrington said in a statement. "Reebok is thrilled to partner with [her]."
Johansson, star of films such as "Lost in Translation" and "Match Point," also will star in the brand's new global women's ad campaign.
Daniel Rosenberg, president of New York-based entertainment marketing and motion picture/television production company InVenture Entertainment, helped secure the partnership between the actress and Reebok. According to him, Johansson was the perfect choice.
"Reebok's goal was to team up with an aspirational actress who embodies individuality and style, and I instantly thought of Scarlett," Rosenberg said. "This partnership requires a creative and entrepreneurial spirit and Reebok has found that in [her]."
Johansson, a New York native who has been recognized for her fashion flair, is excited about the venture.
"Reebok has a rich heritage in developing and designing cutting-edge women's product, which makes them an ideal company to partner with," she said. "I am very enthusiastic about working with Reebok to design this line."
The line, called "Scarlett 'Hearts' Rbk," is scheduled to debut in high-end department stores and boutiques worldwide in spring 2007. Her next film is Woody Allen's light-hearted murder mystery "Scoop," which opens July 28.
