The Early Show 2006 Road Trip! We traveled the country giving away dream vacations! See where we've been and who got surprise getaways.
The "Great American Vacation" tour continued on Wednesday when a special Winnebago pulled into Billings, Mont., to give away another fabulous vacation.
Thanks to a letter to The Early Show from their daughter, Saskia, Jan and Judy Boogman received the surprise of a lifetime.
The Boogmans, along with Jan's brother Han, own and operate the popular Caramel Cookie Waffle Co.
The couple was on hand for The Early Show broadcast at the KOA Kampground in Billings to demonstrate their locally-made delicious Dutch treats called Stroopwafels — even bringing a special box of the cookies along for the recipient of the vacation giveaway. Or so they thought.
So how surprised were they when Dave Price announced they were the ones going on vacation?
Dave Price talks with the unsuspecting couple minutes after learning they received a "Great American Vacation"Saskia Boogman tells The Early Show that her parents work long hours and take off only one week a year — and that time is used to paint, clean carpets and take care of other maintenance at the bakery.
That's about to change.
The couple will hit the road for a two-week getaway in a luxury Winnebago from Pierce RV Center. During their road trip, they will be welcomed at any of 450 KOA Kampgrounds in North America. To top it all off, they also were given $1,000 in spending money.
As Dave Price finds out, one of the best ways to take in all the natural beauty of Big Sky Country is to participate in a sport Montana is renowned for — fly fishing. Our next stop is Friday, June 30, in Spokane, Wash.
