(CBS/AP)  Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have denied wedding bells are in the air, saying they want to concentrate on their newborn daughter and two older children.

"There is nothing in the air. The focus is the kids, and we are obviously extremely committed to the children and as parents together," Jolie, 30, told a news conference for local journalists Wednesday at a hotel in the Namibian coastal town of Swakopmund. "So that kind of says it for us, and to have a ceremony on top of it is nothing."

It was the Hollywood couple's first public appearance since Jolie gave birth to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt on May 27 at a private clinic in Walvis Bay. Delivered by Caesarean section, the baby weighed 7 pounds and was said to be in good health.

Pitt and Jolie had retreated to the southwest African country for government-assisted privacy in the weeks leading up to the birth. They were accompanied by Jolie's children, 16-month-old Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia, and 4-year-old Maddox, adopted from Cambodia.

The couple sold rights to images of Shiloh Nouvel through Getty Images photo agency, saying proceeds would be donated to a charity, not yet named.

A picture of the couple with their baby surfaced on the Internet and both People and Hello! magazines are suing because they purchased the photo rights.

A "community blog" called culturekitchen.com posted a Hello! magazine cover with a shot of Brad and Angelina cuddling their bundle of joy.

People magazine paid a reported $4 million for the right to release the pictures in North America, while Hello! magazine obtained British rights.

People and Hello! launched legal action Wednesday against the Web sites to prevent publication of the Hello! cover before the celebrity magazine was to go on sale Thursday in Britain.

Pitt and Jolie, who were first linked romantically after appearing together in the 2005 movie "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," planned to leave Namibia in the coming days, without specifying a date.

"We are very proud that our daughter was born here, and we leave with fond memories and definitely hungry to return," Pitt, 42, said.

Jolie, relaxed and smiling in a long black dress, said she and Pitt had sought a place where they could spend some special time with Zahara and Maddox before the birth.

"We both had traveled to Africa and loved this part of the world," she said.

Jolie, who won an Oscar for her supporting role in 1999's "Girl, Interrupted," is divorced from Billy Bob Thornton and Jonny Lee Miller.

Pitt and Jennifer Aniston divorced last year.
