(CBS)  Brad Paisley is a country superstar, but those who know him say he's modest, and if something he told Hannah Storm is any indication, that's right on the mark.

Paisley, who has more nominations heading into Tuesday night's Academy of Country Music awards presentations than anyone else with six, told The Early Show co-anchor Monday he doesn't even keep trophies he gets in his own home.

"I'm a little superstitious about it, maybe," Paisley said. "I don't know if it's superstition or something (else), but I give them to my parents most of the time, and they're very happy to display them (in their West Virginia home).

"They thought I'd be a total loser, so they get to show that off and, to them, it's gratifying to do that. But for me, I don't like having those things like that in my house too much because the more you get, the more you stick them in places. It's sort of like, you have guests over (and you're saying), 'Oh, by the way, in case you've forgotten … ' "

But Paisley admits to a sense of pride from garnering all those ACM nominations: "It's just about as gratifying as it can be without having won any yet. It's the type of thing that winning would be great, but it's not necessary. When you come to the party with this many nominations, and all this recognition, it's its own reward."
