Connell also has two tips on quickly serving ice cream.
One option is to scoop it beforehand. Place each scoop in a paper baking cup and place the cups in a muffin tin. Place the tin in the freezer, pull it out right before serving and drop the baking cups onto waiting plates.
The second option involves a knife instead of an ice cream scoop. Place a cardboard container of slightly softened ice cream on a cutting board and cut it in half lengthwise to create two half-circles. Turn each half circle cut-side down on the cutting board and remove the packaging. Then cut the ice cream into slices.
Goody Bags:
Instead of taking the time to assemble goody bags, consider giving each child a favor to take away, such as Frisbees, Uno cards, a jump rope or mini puzzles.
Thank You Notes:
Consider using a fill-in-the blank thank-you note, similar to the Mad Libs game.
