Kate Moss Meets With British Police
(AP)
British supermodel Kate Moss met detectives in London on Tuesday to discuss her alleged cocaine use, but was not arrested or charged with any offense, police officials said.
The 32-year-old voluntarily attended the talks, London's Metropolitan police said.
Moss, who has a 3-year-old daughter, was spoken to "under caution" for 80 minutes before leaving in a silver Mercedes without speaking to reporters.
To be spoken to under caution is an arrangement under English law that means police can use a person's answers as evidence in any future proceedings against them.
"She has not been charged or cautioned and inquiries continue," said a police spokeswoman, speaking on condition of anonymity in line with department policy.
Police said they would eventually submit a file to prosecutors depending on the investigation's outcome. Prosecutors will eventually decide if any charges should be brought against the model.
"Kate Moss voluntarily reported to the police today to assist their investigation as she has always said she would when she returned to this country," her model agency Storm said in a statement.
Moss lost contracts with H&M, Burberry and Chanel after the Daily Mirror tabloid in September published pictures of her apparently using cocaine in a west London music studio where her then-boyfriend, rock musician Pete Doherty, was recording with his group Babyshambles.
The model, who wore a large pair of dark glasses, a white coat and black trousers, has been outside of Britain since the drug allegations broke. She has visited a rehab clinic in Arizona and worked on international assignments.
