Top GameCube Picks
(CBS)
GameCore is CBSNews.com's video game column written by William Vitka, Chad Chamberlain, Lyndsey Hahn, and Alejandro K. Brown
GameCore wants to help you pick what we think are the best titles for each system.
These are the GameCube games we like the most.
Dance Dance Revolution : Mario Mix [Read Review]
Rated E for Everyone
Konami and Nintendo team up to bring you this funky new game that'll get you off the couch and dancing. Packaged with the Action Pad, DDR Mario Mix is a fresh game where you must follow a silly storyline to restore order in the Mushroom Kingdom. Even including an in-game calorie counter, Dance Dance Revolution : Mario Mix will get you active this holiday season.
Prince Of Persia: The Two Thrones
Rated M for Mature
Looks like the Prince's saga has come to an end. We're sorry about that, but at least it was a great ride. If you loved the other games in the series, you'll love this one as well. Everything that made the previous installments excellent is back. Tight controls, ridiculous yet immensely satisfying acrobatics and killing, fantastic environmental puzzles and truly beautiful scenery make sure that while the Prince may be gone, he won't likely be forgotten. Not for kids.
Super Mario Strikers
Rated E for Everyone
It's easy to get hooked on this Super Mario Strikers. It brings a lot of pure fun back to sports games. Pick your favorite character, get your team together and get ready to have a great time passing, tackling, and shooting with the extra powers naturally given to the characters of the Mario universe. It might look super cute, but if you get 4 competitive players in on the action, we guarantee you an intense game you're sure to enjoy. This is Mario Kart on drugs for all soccer fans.
Resident Evil 4
Rated M for Mature
We're not sure what's more important to gamers this Holiday season: Resident Evil or oxygen? Whatever your pick, great graphics and tens of hours of game time make this a necessary purchase for the holiday season. This installment brings all the horror of the Resident Evil trademark to the GameCube. Not for kids.
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Rated T for Teen
If you liked Final Fantasy Tactics, you're gonna go ape over Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. The stunning 3-D graphics put you right on the battlefield against soldiers and hordes of enemies. The battle system is very similar to that of Final Fantasy Tactics, so you'll have a bit of an advantage with that knowledge.
