10 Charges, 10 Acquittals

(CBS/AP)  These are the allegations against Michael Jackson, outlined in a 10-count indictment filed in Santa Barbara Superior Court on April 21, 2004. The jury reached their verdict on June 13, 2005:

COUNT ONE - Not Guilty

Conspiracy to commit the crimes of child abduction, false imprisonment and extortion, a felony.

Accuses Jackson of "unlawfully controlling, withholding, isolating, concealing, enticing and threatening" the accuser and his family.

Says Jackson conspired with Ronald Konitzer, Dieter Weizner, Frank Cascio (aka Frank Tyson), Vinnie Amen, Fredric Marc Schaffel and "other uncharged conspirators and co-conspirators whose identities are unknown."

Crimes took place between February 1, 2003 and March 31, 2003.

Crimes took place in Santa Barbara County, California.

Possible punishment in case of conviction:

One year in prison for conspiracy to commit false imprisonment.

2-4 years in prison for conspiracy to commit child abduction or extortion.

COUNT TWO - Not Guilty

Lewd act upon a child, a felony.

Says Jackson "willfully, unlawfully and lewdly" committed a "lewd and lascivious act upon and with the body" of his accuser, with the intent of "arousing, appealing to and gratifying the lust, passions and sexual desires" of himself and the child.

Crime constituted "substantial sexual conduct" with a child under the age of 14.

Crime took place between February 20, 2003 and March 12, 2003.

Crime took place in Santa Barbara County, California.

Possible punishment in case of conviction:

Three, six or eight years for committing a lewd act upon a child.

There is no probation in cases of "substantial sexual conduct with a child under age 14."

The defendant would be required to register as a sex offender.

COUNT THREE - Not Guilty

Lewd act upon a child, a felony.

This charge refers to a second case of molestation to which the accuser has testified.

Says Jackson “willfully, unlawfully and lewdly” committed a “lewd and lascivious act upon and with the body” of his accuser, with the intent of “arousing, appealing to and gratifying the lust, passions and sexual desires” of himself and the child.

Crime constituted “substantial sexual conduct” with a child under the age of 14.

Crime took place between February 20, 2003 and March 12, 2003.

Crime took place in Santa Barbara County, California.

Crime constituted “substantial sexual conduct” with a child under the age of 14.

Crime took place between February 20, 2003 and March 12, 2003.

Says Jackson “willfully, unlawfully and lewdly” attempted to have the accuser committed a “lewd and lascivious act” upon and with Jackson's body or body parts, with the intent of “arousing, appealing to and gratifying the lust, passions and sexual desires” of the defendant and the child.

Crime took place between February 20, 2003 and March 12, 2003.

Crime took place in Santa Barbara County, California.

COUNT SEVEN - Not Guilty
Optional misdemeanor count - Not Guilty

Administering an intoxicating agent to assist in commission of a felony, a felony itself.

Says Jackson gave the accuser alcohol, with the intent to “enable and assist” in a felony, child molestation.

Crime took place between February 20, 2003 and March 12, 2003.

Crime took place in Santa Barbara County, California.

COUNT EIGHT - Not Guilty
Optional misdemeanor count - Not Guilty

Administering an intoxicating agent to assist in commission of a felony, a felony itself.

This charge refers to a second instance of giving alcohol to the accuser.

Says Jackson gave the accuser alcohol, with the intent to “enable and assist” in a felony, child molestation.

Crime took place between February 20, 2003 and March 12, 2003.

Crime took place in Santa Barbara County, California.

COUNT NINE - Not Guilty

This charge refers to a third instance of giving alcohol to the accuser.
