A Funny Book About First Year of Motherhood

(CBS)  She says, "I can show you this jelly roll around the stomach, along with the hairy legs. Who is going to shave? Because who is really looking? Really. And the stretch marks all over. I mean, this is what I wanted people to see, that I went through it, too! And crying in the mirror. And then I realized, I haven't even turned around to look at my butt yet. That's a whole other book!"

Besides losing weight, McCarthy lost some of her girlfriends, something she describes in her book.

"It's all about how your single friends think you are now the most boring thing in the world," she says, "They couldn't care less about your kid's baby poo or those stories or the first milestone. They're thinking about what guy they want to hook up with tonight and you become the most boring person in the world to them. You start to gravitate towards women with a really cute diaper bag and those are the people who are your new friends."

Now that her baby is 3, she says she is trying to get pregnant again.

• McCarthy's first book, "Belly Laughs" is about her real life experiences as a pregnant woman. It spent almost a month on The New York Times Best Seller's List.
