Grammys To See 'Rebirth' Of J.Lo
(AP)
Is J.Lo back in the spotlight? The singer and actress had all but disappeared after her breakup with Ben Affleck, and the end of the media circus fondly known as "Bennifer." She's been mum on her reported marriage to singer Marc Anthony last June.
But Jennifer Lopez is slated to perform with Anthony at Sunday's Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, the first time the duo has performed live. They have sung together before on "No Me Amas" from her 1999 album, "On the 6," and on "Escapemonos" from Anthony's "Amar Sin Mentiras."
The Recording Academy didn't announce the song the couple would perform. Lopez has new album coming out March 1 entitled "Rebirth," and she may be performing a song from the album for the Grammys.
She will also debut her new fashion collection, Sweetface, in the final time slot of New York Fashion Week, which started Friday and ends Feb. 11.
Her show is being taped for an hour-long MTV special, "Jennifer Lopez: Beyond the Runway," that is set to air Feb. 24. The special will focus on her design career, which began when the singer-actress launched a line for teens in 2001.
"I really think this is going to be a rebirth for us — a big step," Lopez said in a statement. "I've had a passion for fashion for so long."
Anthony, and R&B stars Ashanti and Ja Rule were expected to attend the show.
