Broadway On The Plaza: 'Chicago'

(CBS)  This week, The Early Show gets a visit from the cast of the longest running musical revival on Broadway as part of its Broadway on the Plaza series.

"Chicago: The Musical" won six Tony awards when it was brought back to the stage in 1996. The musical is based on a true story of two Chicago women in the Roaring '20s who literally got away with murder. They were acquitted of their crimes, thanks to a savvy attorney who turned the two "jazzy" ladies into media celebrities.

The stage version has paved the way for the film version of "Chicago" which will be released this Christmas by Miramax, It stars Renee Zellweger, Catherine Zeta Jones and Richard Gere.

"Chicago" is playing at the Shubert Theatre on West 44th Street in New York. The cast will perform "All That Jazz," "When You're Good to Mamma" and "Me and My Baby" for The Early Show.
