Broadway On The Plaza
(CBS)
The Early Show will keep the music alive after the summer with a segment called Broadway on the Plaza.
Casts of various Broadway musicals will perform on the The Early Show's plaza before live audiences. The first musical, "Thoroughly Modern Millie," will take viewers back to the 1920s, a time when women were bobbing their hair, raising their hemlines, entering the workforce and rewriting the rules of love.
"Millie" is based on the 1967 film starring Julie Andrews. The Tony Award winning show stars Sutton Foster as Millie Dillmount, Sheryl Lee Ralph as Muzzy Van Hossmere and Gavin Creel as Jimmy Smith. All three stars visited the plaza to perform and talk about the current state of Broadway after Sept. 11.
