Vice President Dick Cheney was on crutches with an inflamed Achilles tendon Monday as he made the fund-raising rounds in Florida.
Spokeswoman Jennifer Millerwise said Cheney banged his heel on the corner of a table at the vice presidential residence on Saturday. After walking around on it all day, he asked his military doctor about lingering discomfort in his foot, Millerwise said.
The doctor advised Cheney to stay off his foot, keep it elevated and iced, and take Tylenol as an anti-inflammatory, the spokeswoman said. "He feels fine and is keeping to his regular schedule but, obviously, his foot is uncomfortable."
Millerwise put out word of Cheney's injury as he flew to Florida to raise campaign cash — over lunch in Orlando and dinner in Ft. Lauderdale — for Republican House incumbents Ric Keller and Clay Shaw.
