Assault Charge For Harding
The former world-class skater with a knack for getting into trouble just found herself in a whole lot more, reports Correspondent Neal Karlinsky of CBS Affiliate KIRO-TV. Police in the small town of Camas, Washington arrested Tonya Harding Tuesday night on a charge of domestic violence assault.
911 tapes of the incident obtained by KIRO begin with Harding's boyfriend calling for help.
"Miss Harding punched Mr. [Darren] Silver several times," said one police official. "She also threw a hub cap at him. It struck him in the face."
Police say Harding was cooperative after being arrested, but when news crews went to her house to ask what happened, a group of men, including at least one with a gun, stormed out.
