Non-Aligned Nations Vow to Keep Up "Self-Determination"

World leaders from more than 100 countries wrapped up the 15th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh on Thursday with a pledge to "continue our support to the fundamental right to self-determination."

Leaders at the two-day summit — billed as the largest gathering of nations outside the U.N. General Assembly — also underscored their commitment to ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory through a peaceful solution to the Middle East conflict.

At a speech delivered before the Summit's end, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said the gathering affirmed the significance of the massive bloc of states — more than half in the world — as well as the "importance of the values and principles that they defend."

"The success of this Summit is not the end of the road. We must work together, hand in hand, to follow up on its decisions and outcomes," he added.

Pakistan Admits Link To Mumbai Attack Plot

Pakistan has acknowledged for the first time that the November 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India were partially planned on its soil. "Some part of the conspiracy has taken place in Pakistan," said de-facto Interior Minister Rehman Malik at a news conference Thursday announcing the outcome of Pakistan’s investigation into the attacks.

Saudi Intel Chief In Pakistan

Might India Bomb Pakistani Kashmir?

As Washington and New Delhi continue to push Islamabad hard to take ‘meaningful’ steps against Lashkar-e-Taiba leaders, militants and their bases, word comes from a diplomatic source in the region of continuing concern that India will lose patience, or otherwise feel the need to take direct action by bombing L-e-T sites in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

Making Sense Of The Mumbai Finger-Pointing

Indian media, quoting unnamed sources, are saying in fairly definitive tones that Indian investigators have "concrete proof" that Pakistan’s powerful Inter-Services Intelligence Agency was involved in last weeks attacks. The story is appearing in some of the leading papers and on at least one of the 24-hour news channels.
