Hollywood Comes To Tehran

Less than a week after the Oscar broadcast showed Hollywood embrace the Bollywood-influenced "Slumdog Millionaire," luminaries from the American film industry travelled to Iran to talk about world cinema.

Sid Ganis, president of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, and eight other well-known Hollywood figures arrived in Tehran on Friday, reports CBS News' Leily Lankarani.

Iranians Paying Close Attention To Obama Inauguration

CBS News in Tehran asked a close aide to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad if the Iranian leader was going to watch Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony. "The tragedy of Gaza is so deep that it has overshadowed this inauguration for us in Iran," replied the aide.

Iranian opinion is split between those who are hopeful that Obama will bring the change that he's promised, and those who do not believe the world will see much difference in U.S. policies.

Iranian Gaza Protesters Storm U.K. Embassy

Iranian students have stormed part of the British Embassy compound in north Tehran, occupying it for a short time. The protest came after days of demonstrations against Israeli attacks on Gaza.

Iran Shuts Down Human Rights Group

Iranian security forces barged into the Tehran office of a prominent human rights group and broke up a planned celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
