Lithuanian Officials Open New Inquiry Into Secret CIA Prisons

CIA Staff Face New Investigation As Full Details Of Prisoner Abuse Released

The Telegraph:

The Justice Department's ethics office recommend an inquiry in a report presented to Attorney General Eric Holder that will be released on Monday.

Details of prisoner abuses that were gathered in 2004 by the agency's inspector general have never been released but when the CIA first referred to the inspector general's findings, it decided that none of the cases merited prosecution.

Spy Agencies Bump Heads Over Interrogations


Congressional Quarterly’s SpyTalk:
The White House beat a strategic retreat last week on its ideas for a new multiagency interrogation unit, giving its task force another two months to come up with a plan everybody can live with.

But if initial reactions are any guide, the White House faces an uphill fight in creating an organization that can satisfy military, intelligence and law enforcement needs at once.
