Serious Questions About HPV Vaccine
The hope is that Gardasil will prove to be a lifesaver, preventing deadly cervical cancer. But today Merck's HPV vaccine is dealing with a growing number of reports of serious side effects, CBS News Investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reports.

The government and many doctors are recommending that girls and young women receive the relatively new human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine (approved in 2006) to prevent cervical cancer and genital warts. The hope is that this will prove to be a lifesaving vaccine for many women. However, the vaccination is not without controversy, including the question of adverse events.
