Shepard Fairey Reimagines Obama

(Rolling Stone)
Shepard Fairey, the artist behind the iconic "Hope" poster of President Obama, has created a new image of the president that seems somewhat more ambiguous than his previous effort.

The illustration, which graces the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Stone, shows a pensive Mr. Obama staring into the distance. Around his head are these words: "Will he take BOLD ACTION or COMPROMISE too easily?"

Though the words appear in what might be considered a halo, Fairey told the New York Daily News that it is actually meant to be the president standing in front of the presidential seal.

"It's one thing to be running for president and it's another to be president and I think this new illustration that I did hopefully captures the complexity and the weight of his new role," he told the newspaper.

He added that the illustration is in part meant "to say the jury still's out on whether this President will live up to his promise."

White House Easter Egg Roll Moves Tickets Online

(AP)
The White House announced today that for the first time tickets to the annual Eastern Egg roll would be distributed online rather than handed out in person at the Ellipse for mostly Washington residents.

“For the first time, tickets for the Easter Egg Roll will be distributed online so that more children and families from across the United States have the opportunity to experience this event,” a release from the White House said.

The Easter Egg Roll, a presidential tradition, will be April 13, the Monday after Easter. This year’s theme is "Let’s Go Play" to encourage healthy living.

The annual event allows children to visit the White House grounds Easter weekend to roll hard boiled eggs and take part in other seasonal festivities. This year children under the age of ten are welcomed to the South Lawn of the White House play sports, take cooking classes and listen to live musical performances and storytelling.
