Palin To Protesters: My Son Is Fighting For Your Freedom

(CBS)
From CBS News' Scott Conroy:

(ST. LOUIS) Sarah Palin’s post-debate rally at St. Louis University’s Chaifetz Arena on Thursday night was briefly interrupted by a small group of protesters on the upper balcony. The candidate looked on as thousands of her cheering supporters drowned the protesters out, then she calmly stepped back up to the microphone.

“You know what? I got a call from my son today,” Palin said, referring to her 19-year-old son Track. “He’s been deployed over to Iraq. He’s fighting for our freedoms, including their freedom to say what they want to say.”

McCain Letter to Obama Calls For 10 Joint Town Hall Meetings

(CBS)
From CBS News' John Bentley:

John McCain challenged Barack Obama to a series of 10 town hall meetings today between June 12th and the Democratic National Convention on August 25th. The idea came from Barry Goldwater and John Kennedy, who had agreed to do a series of joint town hall meetings during the 1964 election, but ultimately didn’t occur because of Kennedy’s assassination.

Obama Brushes Off Clinton's Attacks

(CBS)
From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Barack Obama said Hillary Clinton looked “in her element” at last night’s debate, which he described as a “roll out of the Republican’s campaign” against him in November.

“I have to say Senator Clinton looked in her element,” Obama said. “She was taking every opportunity to get a dig in there. That’s alright. That’s her right. That’s her right to kind of twist the knife a little bit.”

While not completely ruling it out, Obama seemed disinclined to participate in another debate with Clinton before the North Carolina primary on May 6th.

“We had agreed earlier to a debate, Senator Clinton declined that,” he said. “We’ve now had 21 [debates], and look, the previous three, we did very well, so it’s not as if we don't know how to do these things.”

Romney: McCain Would Struggle In Obama Match-Up

(CBS)
From CBS News' Scott Conroy:

STRATHAM, N.H. -- For most of the GOP campaign, Rudy Giuliani has been the candidate who has pressed the argument that he is the most electable Republican. But in light of Barack Obama’s sweeping victory in the Democratic caucuses, Mitt Romney is arguing that his own message of change would be strongest in a general election, while a long-serving senator like John McCain would have a difficult time winning.
