Joe "O'Biden" On Cheney's Endorsement Of McCain

(CBS)
From CBS News' Ryan Corsaro:

(MARION, OH) - Joe Biden told supporters in Ohio that putting John McCain in the White House would guarantee four more years of “clinging” to George W. Bush’s economic policies.

“I watched on the bus coming over on the television I have on the bus. Just today, Vice President Cheney came out and endorsed John McCain,” said Biden. “Folks, if you need any more proof!”

He walked on stage in the Marion Harding High School gym and held up a white t-shirt he had been handed by the state’s lieutenant governor.

“It says, ‘Obama, O'Biden, Ohio, ‘08’!” announced Biden to cheers from the crowd of around 400 people. “Well, I'm Joe O'Biden!”

Biden has been called by that name before, when people, including Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., have jumbled his name and Barack Obama’s when introducing him at rallies.

“They say ‘And the next vice president…uh…Joe O'Biden! I mean, Bara…Joe Biden!’”

Ohio has, by far, been the state Biden has campaigned in the most, spending over a dozen days and holding twenty events since September.

He holds an outdoor rally in Bowling Green this evening before flying to Tallahassee, Fla., for Sunday events.

As Obama Distances Himself From A Different Pastor, Another Creates Controversy At GOP Event

(CBS)
From CBS News' Ryan Corsaro:

NEW YORK -- Vice President Dick Cheney attended a fund-raising dinner tonight for New York Republicans, which at one point was led by a pastor’s prayer that went after Barack Obama and his former controversial pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Monsignor James Lisante, a local religious leader from Long Island, prayed to God as he attacked Obama.

“Please Lord, tell Senator Obama that maybe change is a good thing,” prayed Lisante. “And maybe he should think about changing his favorite preacher.”

It's All In a Name

(CBS)
From CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Jim Axelrod, who's covering the Clinton campaign:

NORTHRIDGE, CALIF. -- Ever since her drubbing in Iowa, Hillary Clinton has religiously taken questions from the audience at the end of her stump speech. Her campaign staff feels it is the most effective weapon to counter lingering impressions that she is imperious and remote. The sessions have become somewhat predictable. A question about health care. Another about the mortgage crisis. One about Iraq. They vary in their emotional power, depending on the questioner, but the topics vary little from session to session.

Not tonight.
