Edwards' State of the Union "Prebuttal"

Edwards said that Bush's plan to stimulate the nation's economy, a case for which the president is expected to argue in tonight's speech, does not do enough to help those who need it the most.

Edwards' Georgia Drop-by

(CBS)
From CBS News' Aaron Lewis:

DUBLIN, GA. -- It was a signature line in South Carolina that John Edwards used to express his commitment to the state even beyond the primary. South Carolina, he said, was more than just a place he'd fly into for an event and then fly back out. That's the state in which he was born, he'd add, and he understands their issues.

More importantly, though, the line was a dig at Hillary Clinton, whom he was quick to point out left South Carolina following the Myrtle Beach debate last week to campaign in February 5th states, only to return to the state the day before the primary.

So whether by force of habit or out of pure sincerity, Edwards used the line again today in Georgia.

Edwards Appears On The "Late Show"

Joining David Letterman on the "Late Show," John Edwards spoke about the fireworks between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama at Monday's South Carolina Democratic debate.

"What I was trying to do was represent the grownup wing of the Democratic party," Edwards said.

Letterman later asked the famously well-coiffed Edwards if he could mess up his hair.

"Has it ever been messed up?" Letterman asked.
