Two Unknown Groups Claim Responsibility For The Killing of Israeli Policemen

(link)
An unknown group called “The International Islamic Front for the Liberation of al Aqsa Mosque – Al Aqsa Army” released a statement claiming responsibility for the killing of two Israeli policemen in the West Bank last Sunday. “At 6:35 p.m. on Sunday, three mujahideen from the Malhama Brigades set up an ambush for a Zionist Patrol on road 90, in Wadi Arba, and killed two Zionist police officers” the statement said.

Meanwhile, another group called “Martyr Imad Mughnieh Group” also claimed responsibility for the attack today. They sent a short video to the Arab news channel Al Jazeera in which a masked operative was seen reading out the statement before a large poster of slain Hizbollah commander Imad Mughnieh.

Online Jihadist Proposes Plan To Attack Eilat From Jordan , Egypt or Saudi

( )
A member of a militant Islamist Internet forum proposed a plan to launch a missile attack on the Israeli port of Eilat from nearby Arab lands. The posting on the Mojahideen website drew attention to the fact that Eilat was trapped between the cities of Haql in Saudi Arabia (25 km), Taba in Egypt (5 km) and Aqaba in Jordan (5km). “So why not look into striking it from all three or maybe just two fronts?” exclaimed the member who calls himself “Mowaten Mqhur.”

Mqhur included a still picture showing what he claimed is a U.S. warship docked at the port of Eilat, with the Jordanian port of Aqaba showing in the background. He also included a map indicating the position of all three cities with respect to Eilat.

“Praise to God, rockets are very easy to make, so why not prepare for a well-planned strategic operation using short-range rockets with chemical or biological agents?” he added the blogger.

Al Qaeda Claims Responsibility for Launching Missiles on Israel from South Lebanon

A military commander and strategic analyst in al Qaeda organization who uses the name “Assad al-Jihad” (Lion of Jihad) claimed in a posting on a pro-al Qaeda website that the executors of the “mysterious” Katyusha mortars fired on Israel during the war on Gaza were members of “al Qaeda Organization in the Lands of the Levant.” The announcement is the first official claim of responsibility made by an al Qaeda senior operative.

There is no proof however that al Qaeda was behind the attack nor is there evidence of the existence of a group with that name in Lebanon. Senior al Qaeda leaders, including Osama bin Laden, Ayman al Zawahri and Abu Yahya al Libi had issued statements condemning the Israeli attacks on Gaza.

Attack on Israeli Troops in New Qassam Video

(link)
Al Aqsa TV released footage of an attack carried out by Hamas’ al Qassam fighters against a group of Israeli troops barricaded in a two-storey house in Gaza. The video showed Israeli troops standing in the balcony of the house. An RPG rocket was fired at the balcony, right where one of the soldiers was standing. It was followed by sounds of heavy gunfire over pictures of the house, with smoke rising occasionally from its surroundings. The group claimed that it killed five Israeli troops in the attack. Al Qassam had announced in an Internet statement yesterday that one of its men had been killed in the exchange.

Hamas Prisoners Urge Suicide Attacks Inside Israel

Hamas prisoners urged Palestinian factions in the West Bank to carry out suicide attacks inside Israel, in a statement that was leaked out of the Israeli prison of Rimon today. “Blood does not require blood, massacres could not be deterred except through the resistance and nothing cuts iron except ardour and fire,” the statement said. “Today all the eyes are focused on you, and we are all anticipating your painful strikes in the heart of the Jewish state.“ The statement was posted on al Qassam's website.

Hamas Claims Israel Killed Its Own Soldier Captured By Al Qassam Fighters

Al Qassam Martyrs Brigades, Hamas’ military wing, claimed that Israeli forces bombarded a house where Hamas fighters had been holding an Israeli soldier hostage. The Internet statement released by al Qassam claims the soldier had been seized earlier the same afternoon in southern Gaza. “The planes of the Zionist enemy bombed the house and destroyed it completely, thus putting an end to the life of its soldier,” the statement stated. ”They preferred this horrific death for their soldier to him being imprisoned by the Mujahideen of al Qassam,” added the statement.
The group warned Israeli soldiers that they were not safe in Gaza and pledged to try and kidnap more Israeli troops. “God has not allowed for this operation to be successful, but we promise our people that we shall not to spare any efforts in bringing some companions to ‘Shalit’, in order to free some of our prisoners.” Gilad Shalit is an Israeli soldier who was captured in June 2006

Al Qassam Launch YouTube Channel

(al Qassam Brigades )
Hamas’ military wing al Qassam Brigades launched a new channel on the popular video-sharing website Youtube. Seven videos have been added to the channel since its launch on December 31st, two days after the Israeli military set up a Youtube channel to show videos of IAF strikes on Gaza.
The latest video added showed shaky pictures of clashes between Israeli forces and Hamas operatives in Gaza, where Hamas claims eight Israeli soldiers were killed.
The channel also includes a clip showing what al Qassam said was a rocket attack on the Israeli air base of Hatzerim. And with nearly 9000 views, the clip of a sniper attack on two Israeli soldiers in Jabal al Kashif and Beit Lahia, which was shown exclusively on Aljazeera on Friday, was listed as the channel’s most popular video.

Saraya al Quds Claims Ambush of Israeli Convoy in Gaza In Internet Video

(Saraya al Quds)
Saraya al Quds, the military wing of the militant Palestinian group Islamic Jihad, released an Internet video in which it claimed ambushing an Israeli convoy in eastern Khan Younis. A spokesperson for the group appeared in the video sporting a missile launcher which he said was seized during the attack and claimed that his comrades had targeted the Israeli vehicle with a single RPG rocket.
He also claimed that a group’s sniper had hit one of the Israeli soldiers who ran off as his men opened fire on them and said the soldiers took refuge in a nearby house to try and give medical assistance to the wounded soldier. A separate video showed traces of blood on the wall and the floor of the house where the troops supposedly sought refuge

ISI Chief Urges Exiled Palestinians To Attack U.S., Israeli Interests

The leader of al Qaeda-led “Islamic State of Iraq” (ISI) called on called on Palestinian refugees living in exile to wage attacks on Israeli and U.S. interests wherever they are around the world.
In an audio tape posted on the Internet, Abu Omar al Baghdadi also slammed Arab rulers, especially Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, for failing Palestinians killed under Israeli fire in Gaza. Al Baghdadi urged people to rebel and overthrow the “traitor” rulers and “destroy their thrones.”
The ISI leader outlined a plan of five points to deal with the current crisis, which consists of of using the current anger amongst people in neighboring countries to break through the Gaza border and seize weapons from border guards and other military camps located around the border area to pass them on to the militants in Gaza.
Al Baghdadi also called on Palestinian factions to unite and on Palestinian organizations to release their weapons to the militants to use them for real instead of sporting them in the refugee camps’ military parades.
From his side, al Baghdadi pledged to intensify the attacks against American forces in Iraq as a gesture of support to Palestinians. He reassured them, as well as their fellow Iraqi people, that victory was near.
Al Baghdadi’s call for attacks on Israeli and American interests comes days after a similar call launched by al Qaeda’s second-in-command Ayman al Zawahiri. In his statement last Tuesday, al Zawahiri had blamed the Gaza war on President-elect Barak Obama and urged attacks on Israeli and U.S. interests around the world.
