QA Back To Work Version 2!

(CBS)
Changed 2/20 @ 3:23 PM EST. Here are Dave Price and I on our perch above the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square on Thanksgiving Day. Once on the set, the parade comes fast and furious for three hours straight –- there's no time for a break! Check out a few photos from behind the scenes.

Hey everybody, hope your Thanksgiving weekend was great! Mine flew by, as I'm sure yours did. Dave Price and I had a blast hosting the Thanksgiving Day parade. For some reason it was our best ever, maybe because we've done it together for five years and maybe it was the weather -- In the low 60s! I even needed a last minute wardrobe change, had to ditch the turtleneck for a thin cotton shirt.

Otherwise, it was a weekend with lots of family and football. I cannot get over the two quadruple overtime games -- SEC rivalries at their finest. Even my alma mater Notre Dame managed a win to end the season! But after three days of sleeping in until about 7:30, it was a little tough to get moving this morning. So I'm off to the gym to try and wake up -- and work off all that yummy food! Have a great day. See ya tomorrow.

Putting the final touches on the beautiful and talented Alicia Keys. She's got one of the most beautiful voices around!

In just six years, R&B sensation Alicia Keys has become one of the most successful names in music, both commercially and critically. Happy Halloween!

Well, its finally Halloween. It seems like the buildup happens earlier every year! We start discussing costumes in my house about right when school starts. This year I have a two-headed monster (we had to sew two green golf shirts together), a punk rocker and a ghoul! I'm headed to school as we speak armed with black and green face paint and every conceivable color of spray-on hair dye! It's really pretty here and not too cold, which is great for trick or treating! We got started with some adorable kids on our plaza today and some pretty cool pint-size guests, who just happen to have the No. 23 album on the Billboard charts! Check out some fun photos! Now its off to the school Halloween parade! Have a fun and safe night everybody!

Ins & Outs Of The Early Show

(CBS)
When you watch The Early Show, I'm sure you notice we do a lot of interviews outside. That gets a little tricky in the winter when it's really cold and we have to do a mad dash, in addition to donning a coat and gloves. We usually get a commercial break to get bundled up and get outside, but that wasn't the case yesterday on a freezing cold Monday morning in New York City. I was inside our nice cozy studio talking about airline travel and then had to get outside to the plaza for a segment on salads. So we had no choice but to put the whole journey on the air! I managed to walk and talk, but didn't do a great job tying the coat. Oh well, at least my cameraman and I did not trip over cables on the way out!

For a little inside look at what we go through every day, several times during the course of the show, !

Their 'Sweet' Life

Here's a little something for the tweens in your life: Dylan and Cole Sprouse, stars of Disney's monster hit show "The Suite Life of Zach and Cody." Last night, my oldest daughter begged me to let her skip school to come into work with me and see them! We watch their show all the time... so much that I practically have all their episodes memorized! I told my daughter that "school was more important than celebrities" and although it didn't go over particularly well, she knew I meant business!

Meanwhile, a group of girls did get the morning off from school to show up at our plaza and they screamed at literally everything the boys said. I found the Sprouse twins to be earnest, funny and really grounded. They say they give the credit to their strict dad and some level-headed showbiz friends.

Michelle Obama

I had a chance on Thursday to hang out with the wife of Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama. Michelle Obama has become a key figure in her husband's campaign and talked to me about how she first resisted his political career. She also explains a controversial comment during a stump speech.

Tomorrow, on The Saturday Early Show, Michelle talks about why she no longer jokes about her husband on the campaign trail. She also talks about Oprah Winfrey's potential role in the campaign and takes exception with Maureen Dowd's comments about her speeches in the New York Times.

Notes From The Road

Hello from the road... I hopped on a plane to Chicago right after the show and am getting ready to sit down with Michelle Obama, the wife of Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama. The two-part interview airs Friday on The Early Show I'm really looking forward to meeting another working mom with a crazy schedule! Our girls are even the same age -- although I have one more than she does!

In the meantime, earlier this morning we got a great Fashion Week primer on styles for the spring with Katrina Szish. She also let us in on a great runway secret! Be sure to check it out.
