Obama Ads 'Burnout'; Apple Laptops Just In

If video games serve as your entertainment distraction from the current political campaign then you might do a double take the next time you're playing certain titles via Microsoft's Xbox Live service. Digital billboards featuring Democratic presidental candidate Barack Obama are being featured in a number of games from Electronic Arts ranging from "Burnout Paradise" to "Madden '09."

It Ain't Easy Being Green (Or Yellow-Legged, Or Speckled, Or...)

They're nature's ultimate tough guys; amphibians -- like frogs and salamanders -- have survived for millions of years and even through multiple mass extinctions. But scientists at University of California, Berkeley, and San Francisco State University, say they're seeing frogs die off at an alarming rate, which they believe is sending a clear message about the severity of our climate change and global warming. In other words, in their estimation, because amphibians have endured so much in the past, what's happening now with their declining populations is like the canary in the environmental coal mine.

'Jumper' And Super Tuesday Bloggers

Quick entry today -- we're moving ahead with a story for the Evening News with Katie Couric that looks at the science behind the new movie "Jumper," starring Hayden Christensen. What sci-fi fan hasn't dreamed of one day living in a world where "Beam me up, Scotty!" was a reality? Naturally, Hollywood expands on the idea and takes some (actually, a lot) of dramatic license but, hey, so what. We all know human teleportation is not going to happen any time soon (if ever), as much as we could all think of a good time to use it in our lives. You know what I'm talking about. But photons -- well, that's a different story.

Poli-Tube

The creator remains a mystery but the impact is clear: A "mash-up" ad that virtually pokes Hillary Clinton in the eye (by way of a hammer) is generating plenty of buzz online. It seamlessly blends the old "1984" Apple commercial with updated references (check out the iPod), and it steers viewers to the Web site of Barack Obama. Obama's people have denied any involvement, and could it be from a Republican supporter trying to tie Obama to dirty politics? Will there be more like it?
